eGastroMD is seeking a highly organized and dependable Administrative Assistant to support daily administrative and operational tasks for a growing gastroenterology-focused medical organization. This full-time role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is comfortable working independently while supporting physicians and clinical teams.
Provide administrative support to providers and office staff
Manage scheduling, calendars, and appointment coordination
Handle phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries professionally
Assist with patient intake documentation and record management
Maintain accurate records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Perform data entry, document preparation, and file organization
Support billing, referrals, and prior authorization workflows as needed
Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and internal teams
Monitor inboxes and ensure timely follow-up on tasks and requests
Assist with general administrative and operational duties
High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree preferred)
1+ year of experience in administrative support, healthcare, or medical office settings preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organization and time-management abilities
Proficiency with EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and digital tools
Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
